Account deletion is permanent. Once deleted, your account, profile, photos, and biometric data cannot be recovered.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your account and login credentials
- Your profile (name, city, selfie)
- Your facial recognition profile from Amazon Rekognition
- All photos you have uploaded
- Your biometric consent records
- Your notification settings and FCM token
Retention note: Audit logs related to consent events may be retained for up to 3 years for legal compliance purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy. These logs do not contain photos or biometric data.
How to Delete In-App
Open WhoTook and sign in
Make sure you are signed into the account you want to delete.
Go to your Profile
Tap the profile icon in the top corner of the camera screen.
Tap "Delete Account"
Scroll to the bottom of your profile screen and tap the delete option.
Confirm deletion
You will be asked to confirm. Once confirmed, deletion begins immediately.
Request Deletion by Email
If you are unable to access the app or your account, you can request deletion by emailing us. Please include the email address associated with your account so we can locate and remove it.
We will process your request within 30 days and send a confirmation email when deletion is complete.

Just Want to Remove Your Face Data?
If you'd like to stop participating in facial recognition without deleting your full account, you can revoke your biometric consent at any time inside the app. This will delete your face recognition profile from our systems within 30 days, while keeping your account active.
Go to Profile → Biometric Settings → Revoke Consent in the app.
